Read ThisWeek's "Ground Breaking" Article
On June 21, 2006 nearly 300 members of HRC’s congregation brought shovels to participate in the groundbreaking for
the expansion of our church. They joined Children and Youth Director Pam Leskovac, Jacob Houf, Richard Hauenstein,
Larry Pasqua, Tahna Pasqua, Bishop of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church Bruce Ough,
Harlem Road Church Secretary Diana Robertson, Church Council Chair Dale Shipley and Pastor Bud Leskovac.
Others in attendance, but who were not part of the formal groundbreaking group were Delaware County Commissioner
Glenn Evans, a representative of Lincoln Construction, Bruce Dew, and Bill Morris, representing the architectural firm
of Meacham & Apel.
In the brief ceremony before the ground breaking, Pastor Bud Leskovac said, "Today we stand at the threshold of a new move
of God in our midst. The spiritual significance of this moment will touch many in our community, and will continue to do
so for many generations to come. This is a Holy moment. A time in which a Holy God has placed a vision in the hearts of
His people, and His people known as Harlem Road U.M.C. have responded in faithfulness. All praise and glory to the One
who deserves our hearts, our minds, our souls, our very lives."
